A country upbringing in East Anglia was the inspiration for Mark’s early interest in sketching birds and animals. He is a self-taught artist and most of his work has been in pen and ink. In recent times he has been using pencil for black and white work and acrylics for colour.
Later, Mark had the good fortune to live and work in South Africa which proved a perfect opportunity to develop his artistic skills in the portrayal of African wildlife. Every spare moment was spent in game reserves where the rewards can be many for those prepared to wait and watch............
